Bringing together key stakeholders from industry, research, and public institutions to advance hydrogen mobility discussions in the region.
The workshop gathered over 25 participants, including representatives from public authorities, RTOs, academia, and industry leaders, creating a strong platform for collaborative dialogue.
During the session, participants explored Galiciaโs hydrogen mobility ecosystem through a structured discussion covering key infrastructure challenges, including the transition from pilot projects to large-scale deployment; technological bottlenecks such as high production costs, storage and transport limitations, and system reliability; workforce and skills gaps, particularly in operations, maintenance, and cross-disciplinary competencies; as well as public policy and financing barriers, including regulatory fragmentation, demand uncertainty, and the need for long-term market signals.
A central conclusion emerged: the hydrogen ecosystem is currently shaped by a self-reinforcing loop between demand, cost, and uncertainty. Limited demand discourages investment, high costs reduce competitiveness, and uncertainty delays decisions across the value chain.
Breaking this cycle will require coordinated action across infrastructure development, market activation, and policy frameworks to unlock scalable hydrogen mobility solutions.
Building on these regional insights, the interregional online roundtable on ๐๐ ๐๐ฉ๐ซ๐ข๐ฅ ๐๐๐๐ will focus on aligning shared challenges across regions, identifying synergies, and strengthening cooperation ahead of the demonstration phase.
